Sri Aman

Sri Aman, formerly known as Simanggang, about 3 hours' driving from Kuching City. Driving overland using Pan Borneo Highway is the other alternative to this town since 

there is no Airport in this town, along the road, greenery and patches of small paddy, pepper garden and fruits orchard lining the road up to Sri Aman. Sri Aman was chosen where "Aman" means peacefulness. Sri Aman brings the meaning of "Town of Peace" and therefore pigeons became the symbol of Sri Aman as pigeons symbolized peacefulness. Among the activities in Sri Aman as Pesta Benak (Tidal Bore) celebrates in May. Other places to visit as Wong Tapang Rumput , Batang Ai National Park, the Maludam National Park and some other tourism activities such as eco-tourism and cultural tourism to the Iban longhouses such as at Skrang and Batang Ai or Mejong and Murat Longhouse.
