This pool provides a breeding ground for numerous frog species. The delicate amphibians are especially active at night, especially when it’s raining hard and during day time just go hiding among the hole in the trees.
The Rayu Trail located at 900 feet mark on the Summit Trail, takes about 3-4 hours (one way), turning right to begin a relatively easy descent through the rainforest. Mid-way along the trail you’ll find some rainforest giants, and pass numerous Bintangor trees which are currently the subject of Aids research.
A gentle reminder
The most popular trail in the park and passes through mixed dipterocarp forest and incorporates a number of plankwalk sections that cross streams and swampy land. From the HQ, it takes about 1 hr 30 mins to reach the waterfall. Care must be taken on the final section to the falls, where you'll have climb up slippery wooden stairs, and along slick bare rock. The falls are formed by the clear Sungai Rayu, which drops over a sheer sandstone wall as a beautiful curtain of water.
Numerous rest shelter along the Summit Trail.
