Fairy Cave just about 10 minutes' drive apart (6 KM) from Wind Cave, another landmark of Bau Town, former gold mining town in Sarawak ( the legend Tasik Biru or "Blue
Lake" - the name "blue" is given because the water of the former gold mine crater looks blue). The staircase leading to the mouth of the cave is 3-storey high and the stairways with almost 117 steps to climb. Once inside, further narrow steps to ascend and you will found huge cave chamber with height of 7-8 storey building. Sunlight streams into the chamber, enabling you to view the limestone formation of several types. View the beautiful and some eerie shape of nature creations, the stalactites and stalagmites. You can walk up to the summit of that mountain (45 min one way), but you need enough water and good shoes. The path up is quite steep and leads through beautiful jungle. If you have no time to visit Niah or Mulu, this cave is an absolute must while you are in Kuching. There is a Fairy statue in the cave that droplets of water from the caves roof drops on it’s head and it is believed to be holy water and now the water dropping is a few feet away. The Fairy Cave area is also used for Rock Climbing and this spot can be found a few meters away from the Cave Entrance.
